On Wednesday 04 February 2009 in the morning representatives from Singaporean Embassy have paid a visit to Hua Hin Hospital. They were warmly welcomed by Director of Hua Hin Hospital Dr. Niran Chatrakul, Deputy Director Dr. Onanong Hongchumpae, Dr. Wichai Charoenkitphan, Dr. Sirasa Sae-Neo and nurse Khun Wanna Suwannachai. 

Visiting Hua Hin Hospital were Deputy Chief of Mission Ms. Teo Lay Cheng, First Secretary Ms. Ong Yon Chong, Mr. Jason Tan, Mr. Joey Matthias Lim Attache, and Ms. Thidarat Lohakit from research office.

Director of Hua Hin Hospital has invited all visitors to the auditorium on the 9th floor for briefing on medical equipment available at the hospital in case of accident or emergency. Hua Hin Hospital specialise in heart disease.  Director has explained that the 10th floor was built mainly for taking care of HM. King Bhumibol and members of Royal Family as per request from the Ministry of Public Health. The cost of building the 10th floor was 800 million THB.  

After briefing, each of the visitors was given a questionnaire to evaluate readiness of the hospital in case of emergency. Ms. Teo Lay Cheng, the Deputy Chief of Mission, has complimented that the hospital has excellent facilities and dedicated staff and is well prepared to deal with emergencies. She said that she will pass this on the Singaporean Ambassador.

The Asean summit meeting will take place from Feb 27 to March 1 at Dusit Thani Hotel on invitation of Prime-Minister Mr. Abhisit Vejjashiva. Prachuapkhirikhan Provincial Governor Mr. Parnchai Bawonratpran held a meeting regarding security measures for the Asean summit.  In attendance was personnel from Provincial Police Region Office, Infantry Center, Metropolitan Police, PARU and so on. The Governor  spoke about recent visit to Hua Hin by President East Timor. There were no security problems during that visit thanks to good cooperation of Commander of Provincial Police Pol. Maj. Gen. Rungrote Saengkhram, Superintendent Hua Hin Police Station Pol. Col. Kasana Jaengsawang and other investigation teams.  There is intention to deploy more than 3,000 police to protect delegates and deal with anti-government protests at the Asean summit.
