84 jet skis re-enact HM the King's gulf crossing

Eighty four jet skis made the sea crossing from Sattahip to Hua Hin to commemorate the crossing in 1966 by HM the King in a sailboat he himself made. Royal Thai Marines Commander, Vice Adm. Pongsak Purirot opened the event at Prince Chumphon Camp on 01 May 2024.

The Thai Navy celebrates the King’s crossing each year. On 19 April 1966 HM the King made a 14-hour crossing from Klai Kungwon Palace in Hua Hin to the marine base in Sattahip. When he arrived HM the King erected a marine flag at Kon Hin Yai in the center of Toey Ngam.
