Phon King Phet Public Park, Hua Hin - Public Health & Environment Division of Hua Hin City Municipality and The Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPTA) have led the march campaigning against sexual transmitted diseases and AIDS. Among those taking part in the march were students from Hua Hin School and Rajamangala University of Technology. In total 200 participants took part in the campaign, they gave away leaflets and held an exhibition. During the event Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon, Hua Hin Mayor has presided over the opening ceremony, with Mr. Athikun Bootying, deputy mayor giving a report. In attendance were also Ph.D. Rungrote Siluangsawat, deputy mayor, municipal council members and other guests. Mr. Montri Phekanan, the director of PPTA gave sex education lecture on Valentine’s Day for teenagers. The main objective of the campaign is to prevent sexual transmitted diseases because Hua Hin is the famous resort town with a lot of bars, nightclubs and restaurants around, therefore preventing measures are so important to teenagers especially on Valentine’s Day as it might be a risky occasion for sexual transmitted diseases. This campaign has focused on “New Generation against AIDS”.
