Hua Hin residents pay respect to HM the Queen on her 76th birthday

On Tuesday 12th of August 2008 at 08.30 am government official, royal army, police, students, teachers, Rotarians, Hua Hin residents have gathered around the high tower clock. In total about 3,000 Hua Hin residents have formed a procession and have started to walk on Petchakasem Rd to the King’s palace about 2 km away.

In front of the procession were Governor Parnchai Borworn Ratanapran, Vice Governor Bongkarn Limpapan, Vice Governor Pisit Soonthreerat, 7 Chief District Officer, Chief Commander of Infantry Major General Niwat Minayotin and Chief Commander Pol Major General Wirat Wacharakajorn. They were followed by government official, group of Rotarians, teacher, students and Hua Hin residents. During the procession to the palace music band from the Klaikangvon School has played favorite music pieces.

After arrival in front the King's Palace the procession was greeted by the Privy Councilor Khun Jirayu Israngkul who has represented HM the Queen. Governor Parnchai Borworn Ratanapran has started to pay respect to HM the Queen and has presented the flowers to the representative of the HM the Queen. He was followed by other government officials who also have offered flowers too and placed them on a table.

Next all present sang song ‘Mother of Kingdom’, song praising the King & Queen and at the end the King’s song. This has finished the paying respect ceremony in front of the palace to HM the Queen Sirikit on her 76th birthday.

In evening at 7pm for about 2 hrs, government officials, students and teachers have gathered again in to the Queen’s Garden. At the start of the evening ceremony Vice Governor Pisit Soonthreerat lit a candle and he was followed by other persons. Eventually all the candles were lit and all present have paid respect to the HM Queen. They sang songs and wished HM the Queen a long and healthy life.
