During the event Mr. Phairat Sakonlaphan, Director-General of Department of Local Administration has presided over the ceremony together with Mr. Weerawat Chuenwarin, deputy director-general of Department of Local Administration. In attendance at the ceremony were students, teachers, school directors as well as Bangkok metropolitan teachers, in total 262 attendants. From the previous year (2009) the Foundation and Department of Local Administration had together organized a lot of projects to promote and develop educational quality of the local government in accordance with the foundation’s objectives. This year the foundation has received 1 million baht of donation from Municipal League of Thailand in the hope of proceeding the activities as well as rewarding winners in “Excellent Students Competition Project” in local school; 85 rewards for primary education level, 48 rewards for secondary education level, 107 rewards for excellent teachers, 7 rewards for excellent school directors and 15 rewards for excellent local government administrators. The foundation was established on October 1st 1917, this year was 39th year of the establishment with 200,000 THB of initial fund given by HM. The King Bhumibol, the present king, with the main objective of organizing educational activities to promote efficient education and to life up educational quality for children who will be important human resource in the future.
