March with Royal Flag

On Wednesday 15 October 2008 at 09.45am Chief District Officer Khun Siriwuth Hemtas and about one hundred residents have arrived in front of Hua Hin Market Village with the Royal Flag from Pranburi District. The Royal Flag has been passed to Hua Hin Chief District Officer Khun Prasit Boonlikid who has arrived with about one thousand residents from Hua Hin.

Khun Prasit Boonlikid was the first of Hua Hin residents too carry the Royal Flag for the first 100m. Next it was the turn of Pol, Colonel Chief Commander who has passed it Vice Chief District Officer. He has carried the Royal Flag to Phon Kingpet Public Park. On arrival there he has passed it back Khun Prasit Boonlikid who has passed it to Hua Hin Mayor Jira Pongpaibul standing on the stage in front of HM the King & Queen photo. Hua Hin District Officer has opened the funnel with flower, lit candle & incense as part of the paying respect ceremony to HM the King & Queen.

After the paying respect ceremony Hua Hin Mayor took the Royal Flag and has started march of Hua Hin residents to the Royal Palace. In total there were 23 flag bearers changing after every 100m. They have represented various professions and Hua Hin organizations such as: soldiers, doctors, teachers, Hoteliers, Northerner Club, and Village Scout Club. During the march there were three music bands playing for the public. When the procession arrived to the gate of the King's Palace everybody has started to sing the King's & Queen's song and the Royal Flag was passed to Khun Thanom Plai-Sri who is HM the King's representative.

This march was one of many taking place this year between 12th August (Queen's birthday) and 05 December (King's birthday). Today’s march was for residents from eight Hua Hin districts and will be followed by other marches in different areas of the country.
