Hua Hin is tourism town which is expanding rapidly. Since May 08 there is now new Administrative Team running Hua Hin Municipality lead by Hua Hin Mayor Khun Jira Pongpaibul and supported by three vice Mayor Artikhun Bootying, Suwit Rein-roong-rueng and Dr. Roongros Srirueng Swasdi. All three Vice Mayors have considerable administrative knowledge and experience.

Jira Pongpaibul has served in the past four terms as Hua Hin Mayor. He has run Hua Hin Municipality in a very efficient, faultless and corruption free way. There were never complains suggesting bad management and corruption like during other administrations when some people had to pay charges as high as ten thousand  baht for water without  receiving the bill, etc.
During his time in office, former Governor Khun Prasong  Pitulkitja and his team went on one occasion to the Takiab Mountain to inspect  building constructed by a businessman without permit from Hua Hin Municipality, The Governor has assigned Mayor Jira check the legal status of the building. After confirming that the building has been constructed illegally, Khun Jira has ordered the contractor to knock dawn that building. And shortly afterwards Mr.M who has constructed the building has contacted his lawyer and has asked to make a prosecution case against Khun Jira. However Khun Jira was faultless and after the court case judge has decided that Khun Jira has no case to answer as he acted legally.        

At another time someone come to lease the footpath next to the Hua Hin Temple’s wall. Khun Jira has refused to give permission as the footpath was used by the public. Now there are many shops situated on the footpath and we don’t know who gave the permission for them to be there?
Now Hua Hin has a new Management Team under Khun Jira Pongpaibul and I am confident that will start to put things right.
