Staff of Chai-ya Provincial Court visits Prachuabkhirikhan Court

Chai-ya Court OfficialsOn Monday 28 July 2008 Chai-ya Provincial Court sent a group of ten management staff led by Miss Prapapan Karnjanasapak for a working visit to the Prachuabkhirikhan Court. The visitors from Chai-ya were welcomed by Chief Judge Khun Supkit Boonlontook who has shown them around the Prachuabkhirikhan Court.

At the end of the court tour they went to the Conciliatory Center room. Khun Supkit Boonlontook has told all present that he is very pleased to welcome staff from the Chai-ya Court. The Prachuabkhirikhan Court's officials will explain the visitors how the court system works here in Prachuabkhirikhan. It will help both sides exchange working experience.

He said that the public relation at the court is a very important factor. Almost all the people who come to the Court are frighten and nervous. It is the same for those with civil or criminal cases. The court officials working as PR need to help members of the public to be at ease.

There were more than four hundred civil and criminal cases in Prachuabkhirikhan Provincial Court during past 12 months. At the present the Prachuabkhirikhan Provincial Court has a policy of sending all civil cases to the Conciliatory Committee operating at the Court. Many cases were conciliated and there was no need for the cases to be heard by the Court. The Conciliatory Committee have has 21 persons who conciliate cases. Members of the Conciliatory Committee are retired people, business persons and journalist who help the Court very well and work on the voluntary basis without pay.

At the end of the visit the officials from the Chai-ya Provincial Court said that they have had a chance to study the working practices here at Prachuapkhirikhan Court and this very beneficial to them. It was a worthwhile event although it was a very long trip from Chai-ya province and we would like to say a big thank you to the Prachuapkhirikhan Court's staff. Before trip back home the Chief Judge has invited visiting guests for a lunch.
