Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon, Hua Hin Mayor has led Hua Hin municipal officials, Klai Kangwon Palace Guard Ship Officers, Infantry 15, Provincial Police, Border Patrol Police, educational officers, hoteliers & Hua Hin – Cha-Am Tourism Business Association and Civil Scout parade up to Hin Lek Fai Hill for laying wreath ceremony to King Rama VII to observe His Majesty Memorial Day, May 30, 1941.  Mr. Panchai Bawonrattanapran, Provincial Governor, presided over the ceremony and praised His Majesty’s honor before laying a wreath. 

The provincial governor said that King Rama VII was the youngest son of King Rama V.  His Majesty got married to Mom Chao Ying Ramphaiphannee in August 16th, 1918 before having Suan Klaikangwon Palaceand Piam Suk Royal Residence built.  This royal residence was used for royal summer resort in April.  As the king, he had a long vision of democracy by preparing democratic system and drafting the first constitution for his people.  His intention was not successful because of revolution by army, so his majesty the king had to resign from the throne and has stayed in England with his royal consort, Ramphaiphannee before passing away on May 30 1941 caused by heart failure. 

Prachuap Khirikhan Province, Hua Hin District and Hua Hin Municipality have built a memorial monument to King Rama VII on the top of Hin Lek Fai Hill to remind his kindness to the Thais.  The ceremony takes place annually to give allow local residents pay their respects to HM  King Rama VII.
