The celebration were organised jointly by Hua Hin Municipality and the Celebration Holding Committees. Hua Hin Vice Mayor Mr. Nopporn Wuthikul, has thanked Hua Hin Mayor on behalf of the Celebration Holding Committees for attending the Chinese New Year celebrations. In Hua Hin area, there are a lot of Thai-Chinese residents. Until now the annual Chinese New Year was celebrated among their relatives only, but this year Hua Hin Municipality has decided to organize Chinese New Year for all Hua Hin residents at the Phonkingpet Public Park. There Lion and Dragon Masks Parade, parade of students from 7 Tessaban (Municipality) schools as well as other interesting performances on the stage. The celebrations were officially opened by Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Sirapan Kamolpramote. Hua Hin Mayor has congratulated the Celebration Holding Committees for their successful organization of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Hua Hin Municipality has realised how important Chinese New Year celebration are to the Thai-Chinese residents. The administrative team has decided to organize similar celebrations to the New Year Festival. The “Trut Jeen” Chinese New Year celebrations have been passed from generation to generation. The Thai and the Chinese are regard as “sibling” to each other. In order to celebrate the Chinese New Year in style he has invited the famous Lion & Dragon mask show from Nakornsawan. For the celebration, Hua Hin Mayor and his administrative were dressed in ancient Chinese costumes. After the official opening all parades began to move a long Phechakasem Road to Chat Chai Market on Pechakaem Road then around the market back to Phonkingphet Park. Lion & Dragon show was until 10.00 pm.
